What if Mainsake is gone?
A practice about continuity has to answer for its own. Here is what happens to your record if we ever cease to operate.
Your record is never stranded
You hold export rights at all times. At any point, a full copy of your record can be transferred to custody you appoint.
A transition plan is in place before it is ever needed, so a change in our circumstances never becomes your emergency.
If a steward can no longer serve
A successor steward can be appointed, and you are told before any change takes effect.
If you would rather not continue with a successor, you can decline and end custody on your terms.
If the practice dissolves
Your record is transferred to custody you appoint, or to a designated successor institution. You are given reasonable notice and time to arrange the transfer, and no record is ever simply abandoned.
